Who was Judas?
According to the jewish encyclopedia, Judas was the only jewish disciple and was in charge of
the finances..
In all likelihood,
Judas, being of the district of Judah, while the rest were all Galileans, was not impressed
with the Messianic character claimed by Jesus, and therefore,
merely to obtain immunity for himself, committed the cowardly act of betraying him to the
soldiers and officers
Then Jesus replied, “Have I not chosen you,
the Twelve? Yet one of you is a devil!”
